Basilan

Basilan is an island province in the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM), located just south of the Zamboanga Peninsula. Its capital is Lamitan City, which replaced Isabela City as the provincial capital in 2017. Isabela City remains an important urban center and is geographically part of Basilan but administratively independent under the Zamboanga Peninsula region.
