Butuan City, Agusan del Norte
Butuan City is a highly urbanized city in Caraga Region, the regional center of Northeastern Mindanao. Known as the "Prehistoric City of the Philippines" with archaeological finds dating back to 320 AD.
π How to Get There
Butuan is the main air and land gateway of Caraga. Bancasi Airport (BXU) is only a short drive from the city center and offers regular domestic access, primarily to Manila and Cebu. Long-distance buses use the integrated Butuan terminal for routes across Mindanao, including Davao, Surigao, and Cagayan de Oro, while Nasipit Port serves as the nearest seaport for passenger and cargo ferry connections. By road, the Pan-Philippine Highway keeps Butuan linked to the rest of northeastern Mindanao.
