Iriga City, Camarines Sur

Iriga City is a 4th class component city in Camarines Sur, Bicol Region (Region V). The 2020 PSA Census recorded a population of 115,682 across 36 barangays. The city covers approximately 148.72 kmu00b2. Located at the foot of Mount Iriga (also known as Mount Asog), the city is about 40 km south of Naga City.

Iriga is nestled between Mount Iriga (1,196m) and the Bicol River plain. The terrain rises from flat agricultural land to forested mountain slopes. The city has several natural springs (hence its nickname). The climate is tropical with high rainfall typical of the Bicol region.

Iriga's economy is based on agriculture (rice, coconut, abaca) and agricultural trading. The city serves as a market center for the surrounding farming communities. The tourism sector is developing around Mount Iriga hiking, the Inorogan Cave, and natural springs. The city has a growing commercial district.

Iriga is on the Pan-Philippine Highway, about 1 hour from Naga City by bus. Isarog Liner and other bus companies serve the route. The nearest airport is Naga Airport (WNP), about 45 km north. The city is also accessible from Legazpi City (about 2 hours south).
